First up in the hot seat is Mike Black, CEO and Partner at Paige | Black Marketing, a full service marketing boutique located in Denver, Colorado.
Q: Tell us about your business! What do you do and who do you serve?
A: We’re a boutique marketing firm that helps middle-market companies plan, execute, and measure marketing initiatives. Rather than just selling the latest marketing fad, our main focus is helping our clients reach their business goals.
Q: What inspired you to start your business?
A: I saw a gap in the way marketing works today. Business leaders hear about something that worked for someone else and want to try that. This results in a lot of lost time and revenue. With a little planning, we increase the odds of success substantially.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
A: I get to meet business leaders who run fascinating businesses. I love learning and I get to learn each time I meet someone new.
Q: If you could share one piece of advice with an aspiring business owner, what would it be?:
A: In marketing, be deliberate about what you do. Understand how it is executed and measured and measure the results.
Q: How do you measure success?:
A: Everyone wins or we all lose. In the end, we succeed when our clients reach their business goals.
Q: What is the most important thing about your industry right now, and what changes do you forsee for your industry in the future?:
A: AI will have an enormous impact on our industry. In the near term, it won’t replace marketers. Someone recently told me marketers leveraging AI will replace marketers that don’t. I think that’s 100% on target.
